First consignment of Covid-19 vaccines to reach Pakistan via special plane: NCOC

The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) has decided to send a special plane to China for transporting coronavirus vaccines back to Pakistan.

According to sources, NCOC took the important decision at a meeting today and the special plane will leave for China within the next two days. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Faisal Sultan while health ministers of the four provinces attended through video link. The meeting discussed the modalities regarding the use and supply of vaccines to the provinces.

At the NCOC meeting, the provinces briefed on the devised modes of vaccination and said that they have set up vaccination centers in this regard. It was also informed that arrangements have also been made for vaccination at the district level. Dr. Faisal Sultan said that we are all united and fully prepared to carry out the country’s vaccination drive.

Prior to this, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also confirmed that the first batch of the coronavirus vaccines will reach Pakistan on Saturday by a special plane of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). Five hundred thousand doses will arrive in Pakistan from China.
